Connah's Quay Tigers FC

The Pride of North Wales

Connah's Quay Tigers

Connahs Quay Tigers was founded as a club on 7th July 1997 with only one team at U12s.

Originally, it was known as Sealand YFC but due partly to conditions imposed by a potential sponsorship deal and the geographical location of most of the players the club changed its name to Connahs Quay Tigers.

The team colours in those days, (also a condition of the sponsorship deal) was that of Barcelona, blue and maroon, the colours today are amber and black.

The Home Pitches were at The Leprechaun Hotel pitch and now the Navy Club is the main Club home pitch.

In those early days the Chairman was none other than Brian Harrison the present day Chairman, the Secretary was Alan Neal and the Treasurer was Dave Wilson (both Alan and Dave still support the club today).

The Club only had 3 teams in those days but has grown rapidly over the last few seasons and currently has 9 teams ranging from under 7s to under 15s. The Chairman has always said that his dream is to have a team at every age group at the club and he is nearly there another 2 seasons should do it.
